Mock-upFull-colour photos, logos and names on ceramic mugs, tumblers and mouse pads. The ink doesn't sit on top like a sticker. It becomes part of the coating, so it won't peel, crack or scratch off.
Sublimation uses special inks that turn from solid straight into a gas when heated, without going liquid in between. That gas soaks into the polymer coating on the item and sets as it cools. The result is a print that's in the surface, not on it.
Your design is printed in mirror image onto sublimation paper using sublimation inks.
The paper is wrapped or pressed onto the item in a heat press at roughly 200 °C. The ink turns to gas and moves into the coating.
The ink sets inside the surface. Run your finger over it and you won't feel an edge, because there isn't one.
