2. What we collect
We only collect what we need to quote, print and deliver your job, and to keep in touch if you ask us to.
- When you request a quote or send us a message. Our forms open your own email app with the details pre-filled, so we receive whatever you choose to send: usually your name, email address, phone or WhatsApp number, a description of the job, quantities, deadlines and any files, photos or logos you attach.
- When you sign up for "Notify me". Your email address and the date you signed up, stored in our website database.
- When you place an order. What we need to complete it, such as delivery details and the records required for invoicing.
- When you visit the site. Like most websites, our server automatically logs technical information: your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you request and the date and time. We use these logs for security and to see, in aggregate, how the site is used.
We do not intentionally collect special personal information (such as health, religious or biometric information), and this website is not aimed at children under 18.
3. Why we use it
- To reply to your enquiry, prepare a quote and design, print and deliver your order (necessary to take steps towards, or carry out, a contract with you).
- To send you "Notify me" emails about new products — only if you signed up, and you can stop them at any time (your consent).
- To keep invoices and business records as the law requires (legal obligation).
- To keep the website secure and working properly (our legitimate interest).
We don't sell, rent or trade your personal information, and we don't use it for any purpose you wouldn't reasonably expect from the above.
4. Who we share it with
We only share personal information where it's needed to run the business, and we expect these parties to protect it:
- Our hosting and email providers, which store the website, its database and our mailboxes.
- Couriers, if your order is delivered — your name, phone number and delivery address.
- Google Fonts. This site loads its fonts from Google's servers, so your browser sends your IP address to Google, which may process it outside South Africa.
- Authorities, if the law requires it.
Customer designs and files you send us are used only for your job. We won't publish photos of work made for you — for example in our gallery — without your permission.
5. How long we keep it
- Enquiries and quotes that don't go ahead: deleted once they're no longer useful, and in any case within 12 months.
- Orders and invoices: kept for at least five years, as South African tax law requires.
- "Notify me" sign-ups: until you unsubscribe.
- Server logs: kept only as long as needed for security and statistics.
6. Security
We take reasonable technical and organisational steps to protect your information against loss, misuse and unauthorised access, including encrypted (HTTPS) connections to this site and restricted access to our systems and mailboxes. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach ever puts your information at risk, we will notify you and the Information Regulator as POPIA requires.
7. Cookies
Our pages don't use advertising or tracking cookies, and we don't run third-party analytics. Our website platform may set essential cookies when you use its features, such as the sign-up form.
8. Your rights
Under POPIA you have the right to:
- ask whether we hold personal information about you, and for a copy of it;
- ask us to correct, update or delete it;
- object to us processing it, and withdraw consent you've given — including unsubscribing from "Notify me" emails at any time;
- not receive direct marketing you haven't agreed to; and
- complain to the Information Regulator.
To use any of these rights, email privacy@3dprintit.co.za. To unsubscribe, a one-line email saying "unsubscribe" is enough. We may need to confirm your identity before acting on a request, and we'll respond within a reasonable time.
9. Complaints
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, please contact us first so we can try to fix it. You also have the right to complain to the Information Regulator (South Africa):

10. Website disclaimer
- Information on this site. We try to keep everything accurate and up to date, but product descriptions, sizes, materials and turnaround times are general guidance, not a guarantee. Your quote confirms the details for your job.
- Images. Some product images are 3D renders and are marked "Render". Finished prints can differ slightly in colour, surface finish and detail, because of the materials and the printing process. Some background images are stock photography.
- Prices and orders. Nothing on this site is a binding offer. Prices are confirmed in a written quote, and an order is only accepted once we confirm it.
- Your files and designs. By sending us a file, logo or design, you confirm you have the right to have it reproduced. We may decline jobs that appear to infringe someone else's rights, or that are unsafe or unlawful.
- Use of printed items. Printed parts are made to the specification agreed with you. Unless we've agreed otherwise in writing, they are not certified for safety-critical, load-bearing, food-contact or medical use, and you're responsible for checking an item is suitable for how you use it.
- Liability. To the extent the law allows, 3D Printit isn't liable for loss or damage arising from use of this website or reliance on its content. Nothing here limits your rights under the Consumer Protection Act or other South African law.
- Links. Links to other websites are provided for convenience; we're not responsible for their content or privacy practices.
- Content ownership. Text, renders and photos of our own work on this site belong to 3D Printit and may not be reused without permission.
